The conferences of the Romanian Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics ROMAI started having a section dedicated to the Mathematical Education since 2002. In the beginning, the works of this section were published in volumes of Proceedings. At the conference from 2005, the necessity of a journal specialized in mathematical education was pointed out and ROMAI Educational Journal (REdJ) was created.

Starting with 2006, REdJ is published annually and it contains papers presented at the Education section of CAIM, as well as papers sent for publication and accepted by the Editorial board of the journal.

The journal adresses everybody that is interested in mathematical education: researchers, professors, teachers, psychologists. The journal also adresses the specialists from other fields where mathematics has (or could have) an important place.

The works are usually published in Romanian. The journal also publishes works written in English or French. In order to be better understood by the readers from abroad, the papers that are written in Romanian have an English abstract.

ROMAI Educational Journal is an Open Access Journal.
